FIGHT MS Heroes Live Forever Makes A Difference The 2007 MS Bike Ride was a huge success. I am so proud of Team "Heroes Live Forever." Together, we raised $23,475 in support of research and advocacy for those afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis during the 2007 MS Bike Ride.
As an MS patient, this event is very close to my heart. In February of 2006, I completely lost eyesight in my left eye. I was very fortunate to have a family doctor that knew something was very wrong. After three months of testing and dreadful steroid IV's, my neurologist said those words I will never forget. "Jeff, you have MS." The anxiety of the diagnosis process was overwhelming. If not for the support of my family, close friends, and co-workers, I am not sure how I would have handled this. I have been a cyclist for many years and heard about the MS Bike Ride, but I never participated in it until the 2006 MS 150. I wanted to make a difference so I decided to sign up. I have come to know the National Multiple Sclerosis - Hampton Roads Chapter staff very well. They are very special people and work very hard to provide the MS community with programs, research funding and advocacy. But they can not do it alone. They need your help! |
